Starting a seasonal job in sales in New Zealand was an eye-opening experience. I landed a position at a bustling retail store in Auckland, one of the country’s largest cities. The job was at a popular outdoor gear shop, perfect for someone who loves nature and the outdoors like me.
My responsibilities included assisting customers with product selections, managing inventory, and handling transactions at the cash register. The fast-paced environment taught me valuable customer service skills and how to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
One of the highlights was working during the peak season when tourists flocked to the city. This not only boosted my sales skills but also allowed me to meet people from all over the world, enhancing my communication abilities.
The team was incredibly supportive and welcoming, making the transition into the role smooth. Additionally, the store offered staff discounts on gear, which was a great perk for someone passionate about outdoor activities.
Working in sales in NZ provided me with financial stability and the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscapes during my free time. I balanced work with adventures like hiking in the Waitakere Ranges and visiting the stunning beaches along the North Shore.
Overall, this experience not only improved my sales and customer service skills but also enriched my time in New Zealand by connecting me with both locals and travelers alike.
