Looking for a summer job that's a little different? Love the outdoors, enjoy getting your hands dirty, and fancy spending the summer working with a unique artisan sea salt producer on one of the most iconic beaches in the Coromandel? Then apply NOW!!

Harvesting the pristine seawater from our beautiful beach, we solar evaporate it in our custom built greenhouses to create a minerally rich sea salt that's bursting with flavour. We're looking for an extra pair of hands (Oct 26 - Feb 27) to help us keep things running over our exceptionally busy summer season.

Your jobs will include the following and I can promise, no two days will be the same!

Packing our delicious sea salt into cartons, ready to make their way to customers.
Harvesting seawater and salt as part of our traditional salt-making process.
Farm maintenance and general upkeep around our working salt farm.
️ Running our weekend market stalls, meeting customers and singing the Opito Bay Salt story.
Hosting salt farm tours and tastings, welcoming visitors, showing them how we make our artisan sea salt, and giving them a taste of what makes Opito Bay Salt special.
General farm duties and odd jobs — lending a hand wherever it's needed.

We are looking for someone who:
• Is fit and physically capable of handling active, hands-on work.
• Is reliable, hardworking and happy to roll up their sleeves.
• Has a positive attitude and enjoys variety.
• Loves meeting people and is confident chatting with visitors and customers.
• Is comfortable hosting tours, talking about our products and leading tastings.
• Enjoys working outdoors and being part of a small team.
• Has the legal right to work in New Zealand for the duration of the job.

Season: October 2026 - February 2027 inclusive
Hours: Approx. 30-35 hours per week
Work: As above - Salt production, packing, harvesting, farm maintenance, weekend markets, farm tours and tastings
Accommodation: Available if required
